Founder & Private Practitioner
'The Mind Body Counselling Center'
A counselling psychologist working with adults through a
trauma-trained, somatic, and relational lens.
Hello, I'm Anitha
Welcome to The Mind Body – Counselling Center, my private psychotherapy practice for adults. Formerly known as The Mind Body Foundation – Counselling Center (2019–2025), this space reflects both the evolution of my work and a deepening understanding of what healing truly requires.
I am a Counselling Psychologist with over 6+ years of clinical practice, thousands of hours of therapeutic work, and experience supporting adults through challenges such as emotional dysregulation, chronic overthinking, anxiety, depression, low self-worth, relationship difficulties, feeling stuck or overwhelmed, and complex PTSD.
My Approach
At the core of my work is a trauma-trained, somatic, and relational approach to healing. I view healing as a process that involves the whole person — mind, body, nervous system, and life force. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or insight, I attend to the conditions required for healing to occur: safety, capacity, pacing, and integration.
Many of the challenges clients bring — anxiety, shutdown, avoidance, emotional overwhelm, or feeling stuck — are not failures of will or understanding. They are often intelligent adaptations of the nervous system to earlier environments. Therapy, in this sense, is not about fixing, but about gently supporting the system to reorganise itself when the right conditions are present.
In our work together, I pay close attention to how experiences live in the body — in breath patterns, muscle tension, emotional responses, and nervous system states. Therapy unfolds at a pace that the client's system can genuinely hold and integrate, ensuring that insight translates into real, embodied change rather than remaining purely cognitive.
Healing, as I understand it, happens within safe, attuned relationships. My work is deeply somatic and relational, grounded in co-creating a therapeutic relationship that offers safety, agency, and choice. Clients are supported in building internal and external resources — psychological, physiological, and practical — that allow healing to extend beyond the therapy room and into everyday life.
Personal therapy and ongoing clinical supervision are integral to my practice, ensuring that the work I offer remains grounded, ethical, and continually evolving.
